Good news for Indian Car lovers. Tata Motors has recently launched Tata Tiago XTA variant. Now, it has quietly launched the AMT from the XTA trim that has made the Tata Tiago having an automatic transmission even less expensive. The Tata Tiago XTA currently costs ₹ 4.79 lakh (ex-showroom).
Tata Motors, calls it the EasyShift AMT, and the gearbox was sourced, Magneti Marelli. In actuality, it’s the same AMT unit installed in the Zest and the Nano. The AMT unit comes paired with the 1.2-liter three-cylinder Revotron gas motor tuned to make 84 bhp at 6000 rpm and 114 Nm of torque at 3500 rpm.
The Tata Tiago XTA is launched with four equipment positions – Automatic, Neutral, Reverse and Manual. Additionally, it gets two driving modes – Sports and City – such as the manual version. The manual version on the AMT enables the driver to change gears quicker.
Tata Tiago AMT
The 3-cylinder gasoline engine produces 85PS of maximum power and 114Nm of peak torque. In the manual edition, this engine is paired with a 5-speed transmission. The Tiago is also available with a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder diesel engine which creates a maximum power of 70PS and 140Nm of torque. However, this engine is available with a 5-speed manual transmission only.

It comes with some extra new features including steering mounted controls, LED fuel and temperature gauge, dual front airbags, ABS, seatbelts with pre-tensioners and load limiters, height adjustable front headrests and driver’s seat and a cooled glovebox, rear defogger, and wiper.
Tata Provides an optional package on the Tiago XT version, known as the XT(O). However, it is available with the manual transmission only for today. It costs Rs 4.54 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), and for the further Rs 17,000 you cover over the XT manual version, you get front airbags, seatbelt pre-tensioners, and height adjustable driver’s seat and front headrests. An XTA(O) version at the same premium, over the Tiago XTA, will result in an attractive package for a petrol-AMT hatchback from the sub-Rs 5 lakh space.
There are not any mechanical adjustments to the engine. However, the Tiago is still powered by the 1.2-litre 3-cylinder gas engine that churns out 85 HP of power at 6000 RPM and 114 Nm of torque at 3500 RPM.
Meanwhile, the XTA variant overlooks several features like alloy wheels, front fog lamps, ORVM mounted turn indicators, rear wiper, and defogger, steering mounted controls and ABS with EBD.
